<p class="has-medium-font-size">Hello, fellow explorers and martial arts enthusiasts! As we dive into Day 9 and beyond of our Seoul adventure, the atmosphere is a mix of excitement and bittersweet farewells. While Master Greg, Daniel, and Xander headed home, the rest of us were ready to make the most of our remaining week in this vibrant city. So buckle up and join us as we embark on a week of thrills, sights, and maybe a little bit of chaos!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Farewell to Our Fellow Warriors</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240811_124938-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8355" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240811_124938-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240811_124938-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240811_124938-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240811_124938-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240811_124938.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The morning started with a bittersweet breakfast as we bid adieu to Master Greg, Daniel, and Xander. After another delightful buffet feast, complete with enough food to fuel a small army, we shared laughs and stories, reminiscing about our time together. Hugs were exchanged and we waved goodbye to our comrades as they headed to the airport.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Towering Heights: Lotte World Sky Tower</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_121340-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8357" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_121340-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_121340-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_121340-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_121340-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_121340.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">With a few of our crew missing, the remaining group set off to the Lotte World Sky Tower. This towering marvel offers breath-taking views of Seoul, and we were eager to take it all in. As we ascended, the anticipation was palpable. Once at the top, we gazed out over the sprawling city, feeling like true masters surveying our domain. The photo ops were endless, with everyone striking heroic poses against the skyline.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Thrills and Laughs: Lotte World Amusement Park</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_135008-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8360" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_135008-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_135008-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_135008-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_135008-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_135008.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Next, it was time for some thrills at the Lotte World Amusement Park! We jumped from ride to ride, our laughter echoing through the park. Whether we were screaming on roller coasters or spinning wildly on the dodgem cars, the energy was infectious. We left the park with big smiles and even bigger cravings for snacks!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_184007-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8362" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_184007-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_184007-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_184007-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_184007-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240813_184007.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Lotte World is unique, featuring both indoor and outdoor sections, so we get to enjoy a variety of experiences.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Scenic Stroll: Walking to Namsan Tower</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Later in the week, we decide to take a scenic walk toward the Namsan Tower bus stop. The stroll through the streets of Seoul is delightful, filled with charming cafes, street vendors, and vibrant city life. We walked past Namdaemun market, another well known shopping area in Seoul.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Upon reaching Namsan Tower, we take the bus to near the top, eager to witness the stunning panoramic views of Seoul as the sun sets. From the bus stop there is still quite a climb to the tower itself. The city transforms into a sparkling sea of lights, creating a magical ambiance. We also saw lightning off in the distance over the Seoul mountains.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240814_210343-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8371" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240814_210343-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240814_210343-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240814_210343-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240814_210343-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240814_210343.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After a trip filled with excitement, we decided to wind down at Aqua Fields Jjimjilbang, a luxurious bathhouse experience. After a fortnight of martial arts training and theme park thrills, it was the perfect way to relax. The soothing saunas and rejuvenating baths were just what we needed. As we floated in the pools, we joked about our martial arts skills translating to graceful moves in the water—let’s just say some of us had more success than others!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Embracing Every Moment</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As our final week in Seoul comes to a close, we feel a mixture of exhaustion and exhilaration. Our trip has not only strengthened our love of martial arts but also deepened our bonds as friends. It was an amazing trip. Thank you to all of the EMA students who came along, thank you to Master Tom Adam from Canberra for organising the Australian members for the trip, and also a big thank you for GHA for organising such an incredible event. We’ll miss you Korea! …. we’ll be back!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Hello, martial arts fans and fellow adventurers! Welcome back to our ongoing saga in Seoul. Day 8 was a day of mixed emotions as some of our Eagle Martial Arts (EMA) group prepared to head home, while the rest of us dove into new escapades. Grab your travel gear (and maybe a gaming controller), and let’s recap the highlights!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Morning Fuel: Buffet Breakfast Bonanza</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Our day began as it should—with a glorious buffet breakfast at the hotel! Imagine a table brimming with delectable options, from waffles and sizzling bacon to a delightful spread of Korean delicacies. We savoured every bite, knowing that this would be our last breakfast together for a few of us. There were plenty of toasts (with juice, of course!) and even a few tearful goodbyes (almost, not quite) as our departing members prepared for their journeys home.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mid-Morning: Saying Goodbye</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="648" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_091343-1024x648.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8340" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_091343-1024x648.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_091343-300x190.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_091343-768x486.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_091343-400x253.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_091343.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As the clock ticked, it was time to say farewell to some of our fellow EMA warriors. Who knew that a martial arts tour could create such lasting friendships? We waved goodbye, knowing they would carry our memories (and maybe a few souvenir T-shirts) home with them.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Late Morning: Levelling Up &#8211; The LoL eSports Arena</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-1024x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8342" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-300x300.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-150x150.jpg 150w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-768x768.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-600x600.jpg 600w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-400x400.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050-100x100.jpg 100w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_121050.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="551" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_150015-1024x551.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8343" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_150015-1024x551.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_150015-300x161.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_150015-768x413.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_150015-400x215.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240810_150015.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">For those of us who stayed behind, it was time to unleash our inner gamers! We headed to the LoL (League of Legends) eSports Arena, a mecca for gaming enthusiasts. The energy around the arena was electric, with screens glowing and fans cheering. It felt like stepping into a virtual battlefield, and we loved every second! Some of us even tried our hands at gaming at the PC Bang (internet cafe) while others looked around. Who knew that our martial arts training could translate to some serious gaming skills?</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Late Afternoon: A Serene Escape &#8211; Jjimjilbang Adventures</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="760" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0031-1024x760.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8346" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0031-1024x760.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0031-300x223.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0031-768x570.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0031-400x297.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0031.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After the stadium Daniel and Xander opted for a more relaxing experience at the jjimjilbang in Dongdaemun. This traditional Korean bathhouse is famous for its soothing saunas and rejuvenating baths. After a week of martial arts training, it was the perfect way to unwind. They emerged from their day of pampering looking relaxed and perhaps a little too pruney—but happy!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="983" height="1024" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0034-983x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8347" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0034-983x1024.jpg 983w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0034-288x300.jpg 288w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0034-768x800.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0034-400x417.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240810-WA0034.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 983px) 100vw, 983px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Late Afternoon: Shopping and Snacking: Yongsan Station</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The remaining members of our group decide to explore the Yongsan Station shopping centre. With a variety of shops and eateries, it’s the ideal place for last-minute souvenirs and a taste of local cuisine. We wander through the market, we grab some food, Bibimbap, Master Scott’s favourite Korean dish. As we shop, we gather small tokens of our journey—Korean snacks and souvenirs to remind us of this unforgettable trip.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Wrapping Up Day 8</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As the day came to a close, we gathered back at the hotel, sharing stories of our adventures. From goodbyes to gaming victories and shopping successes, Day 8 was a mix of emotions but filled with laughter and camaraderie. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Hello, fellow adventurers! Welcome back to our epic martial arts journey through the vibrant streets of Seoul! As we continue our trip, Day 7 was nothing short of delightful, filled with cultural exploration and, of course, a sprinkle of humour. So, grab your dojang stamps and let’s dive into our itinerary!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we reached Day 7, the official GHA Korea Martial Arts and Culture Tour has come to an end. Day 7 was free time for people to go explore Seoul, say goodbye to new friends and for some, start packing for the return home. For the EMA group it was another day packed with culture, cuisine, and a few quirky surprises with a visit to Insadong!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Rise and Shine: Buffet Breakfast Extravaganza</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Our day began at the hotel, where the buffet breakfast was a feast worthy of champions. Imagine a spread featuring everything from waffles to savoury kimchi. We filled our plates like true warriors preparing for battle, ensuring we had the fuel needed for a day of exploration.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mid-Morning: Subway Shenanigans to Insadong</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_015333938.MP_-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8328" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_015333938.MP_-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_015333938.MP_-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_015333938.MP_-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_015333938.MP_-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_015333938.MP_.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After breakfast, we made our way to Insadong, a neighbourhood known for its rich cultural heritage and artistic charm. We hopped on the subway, and were there in no time. Upon arrival, we immediately felt the vibrant atmosphere, with galleries, tea houses, and traditional craft shops lining the streets.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240808-WA0037-1024x576.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-8329" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240808-WA0037-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240808-WA0037-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240808-WA0037-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240808-WA0037-400x225.jpeg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240808-WA0037.jpeg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Afternoon: Dojang Stamps and Bingsu &#8211; A Slice of Korean Culture</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_024832829.MP_-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8330" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_024832829.MP_-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_024832829.MP_-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_024832829.MP_-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_024832829.MP_-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_024832829.MP_.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Our first stop was a shop where we picked up Korean name stamps, or dojang. These personalized stamps are a beautiful blend of art and tradition, often used for signing important documents. Choosing our designs was a fun process, and we left with unique keepsakes that reflect our names and this memorable trip.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="608" height="608" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_113500.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8331" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_113500.jpg 608w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_113500-300x300.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_113500-150x150.jpg 150w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_113500-600x600.jpg 600w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_113500-400x400.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_113500-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 608px) 100vw, 608px" /></figure></div>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We also visited a more traditional Bingsu restaurant where we treated ourselves to some delicious, traditional dessert.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_031629855-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8332" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_031629855-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_031629855-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_031629855-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_031629855-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_031629855.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Afternoon: A Journey Through Kimchi</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_133006-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8333" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_133006-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_133006-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_133006-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_133006-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_133006.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Next, we visited the Kimchi Museum. Yes, you read that right! This was no ordinary museum; it was a celebration of Korea’s beloved fermented side dish. We learned about the different types of kimchi and its significance in Korean culture. A few brave souls even sampled some, leading to hilarious reactions that ranged from “Mmm, this is delicious!” to “Who knew cabbage could pack such a punch?”</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_134423-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8335" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_134423-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_134423-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_134423-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_134423-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_134423.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lunchtime: Savouring Authentic Korean Cuisine</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_143909-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8336" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_143909-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_143909-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_143909-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_143909-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_143909.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After our cultural excursion, it was time for lunch! We found a local restaurant that served a variety of traditional Korean dishes. We feasted on delicious bulgogi, mandu, kimchi jjigae, and of course, more kimchi. Everything tasted amazing—each bite a reminder of why we travelled all the way to Korea.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Late-Afternoon: Coffee Break at the Poop Café</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="608" height="608" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_160632.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8337" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_160632.jpg 608w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_160632-300x300.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_160632-150x150.jpg 150w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_160632-600x600.jpg 600w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_160632-400x400.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_160632-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 608px) 100vw, 608px" /></figure></div>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Now, here’s where the day took a wonderfully quirky turn: we visited the infamous Poop Café! Yes, you read that right again. This whimsical café features everything from cute poop-shaped pastries to drinks served in toilet bowl mugs. It was an Instagram dream, with everyone striking poses next to the “poop” décor. As we sipped our “number two” lattes, laughter filled the air. After all, what’s a martial arts tour without a little silliness?</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="679" height="608" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_065642418.MP_.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8338" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_065642418.MP_.jpg 679w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_065642418.MP_-300x269.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240809_065642418.MP_-400x358.jpg 400w" sizes="(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Evening: Reflecting on a Memorable Day</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As the sun began to set over Seoul, we reflected on the day’s adventures. From hearty breakfasts to unique experiences at the Poop Cafe, Day 7 was a perfect blend of culture, food, and fun.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Welcome back to the fun-filled journey of the EMA group in Seoul! Day 6 was a delightful mix of martial arts supplies, shopping shenanigans, and a night to remember at our awards ceremony. So, let’s jump right in!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Morning: Breakfast Bonanza</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Our day started, as all good days do, with a lavish buffet breakfast at the hotel. Once again, we found ourselves overwhelmed by the sheer variety of options. From fluffy omelettes to spicy kimchi, it was a breakfast buffet that would make any foodie swoon. We chatted about the adventures of the past few days while trying to balance multiple plates. “I’ll just have a little more of everything,” one person declared, as they made a heroic effort to carry a tower of food.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mid-Morning: Martial Arts Supply Store Shenanigans</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="803" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_120550-1024x803.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8318" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_120550-1024x803.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_120550-300x235.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_120550-768x602.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_120550-400x314.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_120550.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After our hearty breakfast, we headed to Moosoolsa, a martial arts supply store that felt like heaven for any martial arts enthusiast. The store wasn’t for everyone as its specialty is custom made gear, including embroidered belts, custom uniforms and T-shirts etc.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Some of us stocked up on gear, excited to bring home some Korean martial arts memorabilia.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Afternoon: Yongsan Station Shopping Mall</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_180924-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8445" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_180924-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_180924-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_180924-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_180924-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240809_180924.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Our next stop was heading back to Yongsan Station shopping mall. This modern complex offered a stark contrast to the traditional martial arts store we had just visited. We explored a variety of shops, from electronics stores showcasing the latest Korean tech to fashion boutiques featuring trendy K-pop inspired styles. The food court provided a great spot for lunch, where we enjoyed a mix of Korean and international cuisines.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Evening: Awards Night Ceremony</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="684" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202513-1024x684.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8320" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202513-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202513-300x200.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202513-768x513.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202513-775x517.jpg 775w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202513-400x267.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202513.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The highlight of our day, and indeed a fitting conclusion to our entire trip, was the evening&#8217;s awards night ceremony and buffet dinner. Held in a banquet hall, the event was a celebration of our achievements and experiences throughout the tour.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="797" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_194314-1024x797.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8321" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_194314-1024x797.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_194314-300x234.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_194314-768x598.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_194314-400x311.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_194314.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The ceremony began with a recap of our journey, showcasing photos and videos from our various training sessions and cultural excursions. It was amazing to see how much we had learned and experienced in just six days.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="556" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02365-Enhanced-NR-1024x556.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8322" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02365-Enhanced-NR-1024x556.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02365-Enhanced-NR-300x163.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02365-Enhanced-NR-768x417.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02365-Enhanced-NR-400x217.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02365-Enhanced-NR.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The evening wasn&#8217;t just about individual achievements, though. Our instructors, including Grand Master Lee and Grand Master Walters, were honoured for their guidance and expertise in teaching martial arts. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202750-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8324" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202750-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202750-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202750-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202750-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240808_202750.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we enjoyed a gourmet Korean fusion dinner, we shared our favourite moments from the trip and exchanged contact information with new friends. The atmosphere was one of joy and camaraderie, tinged with a bit of sadness that our adventure was coming to an end.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="847" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02629-Enhanced-NR-1024x847.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8323" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02629-Enhanced-NR-1024x847.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02629-Enhanced-NR-300x248.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02629-Enhanced-NR-768x635.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02629-Enhanced-NR-400x331.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DSC02629-Enhanced-NR.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we returned to our hotel for our final night in Seoul, we were filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Our martial arts tour had not only improved our skills but had also given us a deep appreciation for Korean culture and history. We went to bed with full hearts, already planning when we might return to this fascinating city for more martial arts adventures.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Late Evening: The After Party (While Doing Laundry)</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240808_133422535-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8325" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240808_133422535-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240808_133422535-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240808_133422535-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240808_133422535-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240808_133422535.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After the ceremony some of the group mentioned they had some of the rather sweaty doboks/uniforms that they’d like to wash before either heading back to Australia or continuing with the trip, it was then that someone suggested that we grab some snacks and drinks from the convenient store in the hotel and have an award ceremony night after party! … while washing clothes. It was an EMA group exclusive party (in the laundry room/kitchen at the hotel) where we shared stories about the trip, funny stories about ourselves and enjoyed a drink and a chat, a great end to an already great night!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Wrapping Up Day 6</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After a night filled with laughter, cheers, and a few tearful goodbyes (because let’s face it, it’s always hard to leave such an amazing trip) we headed back to our rooms. Day 6 had been a perfect blend of martial arts, shopping, and camaraderie.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we tucked in for the night, we couldn’t help but reflect on all the incredible memories we had made together. With one more day left in our adventure, we were eager to see what surprises awaited us. Stay tuned for the grand finale of our epic trip in Seoul on the GHA Korea Martial Arts and Culture Tour 2024!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Welcome to Day 5 of our martial arts trip to Seoul! If you thought martial arts was all about discipline and focus, think again. Today was a delightful mix of high kicks, unexpected mishaps, and a sprinkle of cultural exploration. Grab a cup of kimchi-flavoured coffee (just kidding, that’s not a thing) and enjoy our escapade!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Morning: Breakfast Bliss</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We started our day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel that could only be described as a feast fit for warriors. There was everything from crispy bacon to steaming bowls of rice, and yes, plenty of kimchi to kickstart our taste buds. We all agreed: carbs are essential for high kicks—right? With our plates piled high, we indulged in a bit of friendly competition over who could eat the most breakfast. Spoiler alert: it was definitely not the healthy option.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mid-Morning: The Taekwondo Seminar Showdown</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094636-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8305" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094636-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094636-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094636-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094636-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094636.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094501-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8303" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094501-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094501-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094501-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094501-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_094501.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">With our stomachs full and our spirits high, we headed to the Taekwondo seminar. The seminar began with an intense warm-up, followed by technique drills that pushed our limits. Our fearless leader, Scott Sabeomnim, was ready to demonstrate some impressive techniques. But in a twist of fate worthy of a dramatic film, he pulled a hamstring mid-kick! Still holding his ground, and still nice and warmed up, he continued on, smashing a board at the end of the seminar. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_102602-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8306" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_102602-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_102602-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_102602-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_102602-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_102602.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Other members of the group also had a go at breaking boards, even the one of the youngest of the group managed to break one! Great work!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_113351-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8307" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_113351-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_113351-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_113351-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_113351-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_113351.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Fun was had by all, lots of kicking, sweating and kihaping but soon it was time to leave. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240807_024340065.MP_-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8316" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240807_024340065.MP_-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240807_024340065.MP_-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240807_024340065.MP_-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240807_024340065.MP_-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240807_024340065.MP_.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Afternoon: Honoring History at Yongsan War Memorial Hall</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_121042-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8308" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_121042-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_121042-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_121042-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_121042-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_121042.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_124235-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8309" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_124235-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_124235-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_124235-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_124235-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_124235.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After our seminar adventures, we made our way to the Yongsan War Memorial Hall. This was a sobering experience (once Scott Sabeomnim managed to get up the stairs with his, now cooled down, pulled hammie), and we took a moment to appreciate Korea’s rich history. The exhibits were both fascinating and eye-opening, and we couldn’t help but feel a sense of respect for the resilience of the Korean people. From the exhibitions of the scaled down ‘turtle ship’ to the full sized tanks and planes they are in the memorial hall, it was definitely worth the visit.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Our next stop was the Kukkiwon, also known as the World Taekwondo Headquarters. This iconic building is considered the global center of Taekwondo. We toured the facilities, including the main training hall where numerous championships have been held. The adjacent Taekwondo Museum offered a fascinating look at the art&#8217;s history and evolution, from its roots in traditional Korean martial arts to its current status as an Olympic sport.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As the day wound down, the instructors headed off to an “important” dinner—probably to discuss Scott’s hamstring woes and share tips on how to not pull one while showing off (just kidding Sabeomnim). Meanwhile, the rest of us decided to explore the glitzy COEX Mall. This place is like a shopping wonderland, with enough stores to make your credit card weep. We lost ourselves in the aisles, with one friend getting way too excited about a karaoke machine. (Karaoke night is going to be epic!)</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_165959-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8315" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_165959-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_165959-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_165959-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_165959-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240807_165959.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After our shopping spree, we made our way to Bongeunsa Temple. The contrast was refreshing; the serene beauty of the temple offered a peaceful end to our bustling day. To cap off our day, we made our way to the nearby Bongeunsa Temple. This 1200-year-old Buddhist temple offered a serene contrast to the bustling modernity of COEX. As night fell, the temple was illuminated, creating a mystical atmosphere. </p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Wrapping Up the Day</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we headed back to the hotel, we reflected on the day’s hilarious ups and downs. From Scott’s dramatic hamstring saga to our cultural explorations, Day 5 was a perfect blend of fun, learning, and laughter. We hit the pillows that night with dreams of martial arts moves, shopaholic antics, and a new appreciation for both the history and hilarity of our journey in Seoul on the GHA Korea Martial Arts and Culture Tour 2024! Here’s to hoping Scott Sabeomnim&#8217;s back in action soon—because we’ve got more adventures ahead!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Morning: Breakfast Extravaganza</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We kicked off the day with another fabulous buffet breakfast at the hotel. With a smorgasbord of options, we once again attempted to balance our plates with both sweet and savoury delights. And with that, breakfast became a delightful mix of waffles, eggs, rice, and just a touch of healthy options (because we’re definitely health-conscious… most of the time).</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After breakfast, we hopped on the bus for a much-anticipated tour of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). Our guide regaled us with stories of the region’s history, and we were all ears—except for a few who were too busy taking selfies with everything in sight!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The highlight was the cable car ride that took us right up to the edge of North Korea. The view from the cable car was breath-taking, but also sobering, the emptiness of the DMZ, offering a unique perspective on the geopolitical landscape of the Korean peninsula. The museum on the other North side showed information about the war and signing of the ceasefire.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After our epic DMZ adventure, we were famished and ready for lunch. We enjoyed a hearty bowl of budaejjigae, a spicy Korean stew that was perfect for refuelling after our morning excitement. The mix of ingredients was like a party in a pot—ramyeon noodles, sausage, and a whole lot of spicy goodness! </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we paired up to practice, the atmosphere shifted from serious to hilariously awkward. “If I accidentally poke you, it’s all part of the training!”. Laughter echoed through the room as we fumbled our way through the techniques, each of us trying to channel our inner action hero—minus the Hollywood polish. By the end of the seminar though we doing some of the basics like pros… or so we thought.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Next on our agenda was a Kalhap knife fighting seminar. Now, this was a new level of martial arts! We learned techniques that were as impressive as they were intimidating. Our instructor demonstrated some moves, and we couldn’t help but be awed (and a little scared).</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After the seminar, we headed to Dongdaemun for some much-needed retail therapy. The market was a vibrant maze of shops and stalls, bursting with everything from fashion to souvenirs. We scattered in different directions, excitedly texting each other about the best finds. <p class="has-medium-font-size">As we wrapped up our shopping adventure, it was time for some sweet indulgence. We treated ourselves to heottdok, a delicious stuffed pancake that was sweet and oh-so-satisfying. “Sooo Goood!” someone exclaimed, eyes sparkling with delight.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">But wait, we weren’t done! We also had to try bingsu, a Korean shaved ice dessert that was perfect for cooling off after a long day. The fluffy ice, topped with sweet red beans, fruits, and condensed milk, was pure bliss. We treated Winnie to some Birthday Bingsu to celebrate her ‘on tour’ birthday. Happy Birthday Winnie!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we returned to the hotel, our hearts and stomachs were full. Day 4 had been a blend of adventure, laughter, and culinary delights that left us all smiling. From the dramatic views at the DMZ to our martial arts training and delicious treats, we made memories that we would cherish forever.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Welcome back to our wild ride with the EMA group on our martial arts trip to Seoul for the GHA Korea Martial Arts Seminar and Culture Tour 2024! Day 3 brought a mix of historical skills, mouth-watering food, and a karaoke showdown that we won&#8217;t soon forget. Buckle up for another fun-filled day!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Morning: Breakfast Buffoonery</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We kicked off Day 3 with another glorious buffet breakfast at the hotel. The spread was so impressive that we could practically hear our taste buds cheering. Waffles, rice, and a plethora of Korean dishes lined the table, making it a challenge to decide what to eat first. A few of us attempted to channel our inner martial artists by grabbing healthy options, but let’s be honest—most of us ended up with plates overflowing with everything from egg to spicy kimchi. “I’m carb-loading for the archery!” we told ourselves.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Morning: Off to Songnam City</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_080616-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8246" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_080616-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_080616-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_080616-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_080616-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_080616.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After breakfast, we hopped on the bus for a scenic ride to Songnam City. As we rolled through the streets, we had a chat and took some photos. The anticipation was palpable—traditional Korean archery and sword cutting? Talk about stepping into a historical epic! Exciting stuff!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We first stopped at a traditional palace/fort for a full group shot before heading up the steep hill to the archery and cutting location. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our instructors, who were as enthusiastic as we were, despite the extreme heat of the day. After a great demonstration and a quick safety briefing, we donned our gear and picked up the bows. It was time to channel our inner archers!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we took aim, we quickly discovered that hitting the target was more challenging than it looked. Our instructor chuckled and reminded us that practice makes perfect. After a few rounds of laughter and friendly competition, we finally hit our stride. Grand Master Greg Walters (Chairman of GHA Australia) did especially well.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Next up was the sword cutting seminar. Armed with traditional swords, we attempted to slice through various bamboo poles. It was both exhilarating and a bit nerve-wracking! The expert instruction from the Masters saw us all manage to cut through the Bamboo.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After all that hard work (and a bit of sword-swinging chaos), we were ready for some serious refuelling. We headed to an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant, and let me tell you, it was glorious! The sizzling sound of marinated meat hitting the grill was music to our ears.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_181831-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8257" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_181831-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_181831-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_181831-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_181831-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_181831.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We piled our plates high with bulgogi, samgyeopsal, and every side dish imaginable. “Just one more round!” became our battle cry as we went back for seconds—and thirds—while swapping stories and laughing about our earlier antics. The camaraderie over grilled meat was unbeatable!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Late Evening: Norebang – The Karaoke Showdown</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="295" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221009-1024x295.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8435" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221009-1024x295.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221009-300x86.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221009-768x221.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221009-400x115.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221009.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">With our bellies full and spirits high, we headed to a norebang (karaoke room) for a night of singing and silliness. Some of us took it seriously, belting out classics like “Step by Step” with all the passion of a true diva, while others just wanted to have fun and throw in some questionable dance moves.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_214523-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8436" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_214523-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_214523-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_214523-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_214523-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_214523.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">While not the most glamorous norebang, it was still a lot of fun! “Who needs pitch when you have enthusiasm?” someone shouted as we collectively attempted to sing “Bohemian Rhapsody,” resulting in a chorus that could only be described as unique. We laughed, cheered each other on, and embraced our inner rock stars.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221158-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8259" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221158-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221158-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221158-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221158-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_221158.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Wrapping Up Day 3</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As we wrapped up the night, our voices hoarse but our hearts full, we reflected on another amazing day. From traditional archery, sword cutting, to all-you-can-eat BBQ and karaoke chaos, Day 3 was a whirlwind of fun and friendship.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We returned to the hotel, exhausted but exhilarated, ready for whatever Day 4 had in store. One thing was certain: this trip was bringing us closer together—and giving us plenty of hilarious memories to cherish! Stay tuned for more adventures from our unforgettable trip to Seoul on the GHA Korea Martial Arts and Culture Tour 2024!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Welcome back to our epic journey with the EMA group! Day 2 in Seoul was packed with action, training, delicious food, and a healthy dose of retail therapy. Grab your favourite snack (preferably something Korean), and let’s dive into our fun-filled day!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Morning: Breakfast Buffet Bonanza</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We started the day at the hotel with a breakfast buffet that was nothing short of spectacular. With options ranging from fluffy pancakes to spicy kimchi, it was a true feast. The competitive spirit was alive as we piled the food onto our plates. “I’ll take the waffles, kimchi <em>and</em> the toast, thank you very much!” was the mantra of the day. Afterward, we felt fuelled and ready to take on anything—except perhaps a marathon.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mid-Morning: Hapkido Seminar and Grading</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_233519319_iOS-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8233" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_233519319_iOS-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_233519319_iOS-300x200.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_233519319_iOS-768x512.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_233519319_iOS-775x517.jpg 775w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_233519319_iOS-400x267.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240805_233519319_iOS.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">With our bellies full, we headed to a Hapkido seminar. The energy in the room was electric as we warmed up and got into the groove of things. We practiced kicks, throws, and some impressive self-defence moves that would make even the most skilled ninja envious.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As the seminar progressed, the moment of truth arrived: grading! Our hearts raced as our fellow students showcased their skills. Amidst the seriousness, we couldn’t help but exchange cheeky glances and inside jokes. “If they don’t break a board, we’re blaming the breakfast buffet!” one of our friends joked, drawing chuckles from those who heard it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240806_010718269_iOS-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8234" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240806_010718269_iOS-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240806_010718269_iOS-300x200.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240806_010718269_iOS-768x512.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240806_010718269_iOS-775x517.jpg 775w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240806_010718269_iOS-400x267.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240806_010718269_iOS.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Late Morning: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Bonanza</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0009-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8235" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0009-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0009-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0009-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0009-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0009.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Next up was a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar. This was our chance to roll with the best and learn some slick ground moves. Let’s just say, by the end, we were all experts at the art of awkwardly grappling with each other. Scott Sabeomnim had a roll with the under 17 champion BJJ blue belt that was helping to teach the seminar, he was good.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0010-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8236" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0010-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0010-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0010-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0010-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240805-WA0010.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lunch: Bulgogi Bliss</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="797" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240804_042607573-e1729914050863-1024x797.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8237" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240804_042607573-e1729914050863-1024x797.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240804_042607573-e1729914050863-300x233.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240804_042607573-e1729914050863-768x597.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240804_042607573-e1729914050863-400x311.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PXL_20240804_042607573-e1729914050863.jpg 1081w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After all that hard work (and a bit of clumsiness), we were starving! We headed to a local restaurant for a bulgogi lunch. The savoury marinated beef, sizzling hot, was pure bliss. We piled our plates high and couldn’t resist going back for seconds—because why not? Everyone had a great time and were well and truly full by the time we left.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Afternoon Adventures: Shopping at Myeongdong</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">With our appetites satisfied, we ventured to Myeongdong, a shopping paradise. The streets were alive with vendors selling everything from skincare products to delicious street food. We split into small groups, and the hunt was on!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">There were plenty of shenanigans—like impromptu photo shoots with oversized hats and some seriously questionable fashion choices. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The group then split up, some continued shopping while the rest of us need a break and what better way to unwind than with some furry friends? Our visit to a cat café was a delightful pit stop. Picture this: a cozy space filled with playful kitties lounging around while we sipped our coffees and ice teas, and tried to ignore the fact that we were all secretly plotting to take one home.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="478" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_151750-1024x478.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8425" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_151750-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_151750-300x140.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_151750-768x358.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_151750-400x187.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240804_151750.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The cats, indifferent to our presence, were the real stars of the show. We snapped endless pictures and tried to coax them into posing. Spoiler alert: they had other plans. They were still cute though.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Our next stop was the majestic Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon dynasty. Though it was a very hot day, we were still in awe of the intricate architecture and beautiful gardens. The stark contrast between the traditional palace and the modern cityscape of Seoul was truly a sight to behold.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">As the sun began to set, we headed to Hongdae, another shopping hotspot known for its youthful vibe. The streets were buzzing with energy, street performers, and all kinds of shops. We wandered through boutiques and cosmetics stores.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Ah, the thrill of adventure! Our EMA group’s martial arts trip to Seoul for the Global Hapkido Association’s (GHA) Korea Martial Arts and Culture Tour kicked off with all the excitement of a high-energy training session. From the moment we boarded the shuttle bus to Melbourne Airport, we knew this was going to be a trip to remember. Let’s dive into the highlights of our Day 0/1!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Shuttle Shuffle</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="869" height="608" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240801_140041-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8406" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240801_140041-1.jpg 869w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240801_140041-1-300x210.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240801_140041-1-768x537.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240801_140041-1-400x280.jpg 400w" sizes="(max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">We piled into the shuttle bus, filled with anticipation and excitement. The drive to the airport felt like the opening scene of an epic movie—friends chatting and laughing, some ridiculous jokes being thrown around. Cue the laughter!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Flights of Fancy</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="965" height="482" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/EMA-on-Tour-2024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8192" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/EMA-on-Tour-2024.jpg 965w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/EMA-on-Tour-2024-300x150.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/EMA-on-Tour-2024-768x384.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/EMA-on-Tour-2024-400x200.jpg 400w" sizes="(max-width: 965px) 100vw, 965px" /></figure></div>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_040553-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8196" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_040553-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_040553-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_040553-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_040553-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_040553.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After check-in and a few rounds of airport selfies, we boarded our flight to Singapore. As we settled in, we made sure to have our travel essentials ready: neck pillows, snacks, and—most importantly—queueing the martial arts movies for the flight!</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Layover in Singapore</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_025440-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8197" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_025440-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_025440-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_025440-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_025440-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_025440.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Once we arrived in Singapore, we marvelled at the airport, unfortunately though, it was quite late, so a lot of the shops were closed. We had just enough time to get some snacks, have a quick look around and have a rest before we had to board our next flight. Between movies and snacks, we cheered each other on as we navigated through our travel fatigue and excitement.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Touchdown in Incheon</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240802-WA0015-resized-1024x768.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8198" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240802-WA0015-resized-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240802-WA0015-resized-300x225.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240802-WA0015-resized-768x576.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240802-WA0015-resized-400x300.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG-20240802-WA0015-resized.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Finally, we landed in Incheon, and the excitement hit us like a roundhouse kick! We were met at the airport by Grand Master Choong Woo Lee, the head of GHA Korea, who organised the quick shuttle bus ride that brought us to the Yongsan Ibis Ambassador Hotel. We felt like true warriors as we checked in, ready to rest up for the martial arts adventures ahead.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="766" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG_20240804_213422546-1024x766.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8227" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG_20240804_213422546-1024x766.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG_20240804_213422546-300x224.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG_20240804_213422546-768x575.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG_20240804_213422546-400x299.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/IMG_20240804_213422546.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p></p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Exploring Yongsan Station</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_134759-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8229" srcset="https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_134759-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_134759-300x169.jpg 300w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_134759-768x432.jpg 768w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_134759-400x225.jpg 400w, https://eaglema.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/20240802_134759.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">With introductions done, we set out to explore Yongsan Station, a bustling hub of shops and eateries. We divided into small groups, with some of us on a quest for the best Korean snacks, while others were simply trying to navigate the signage (which was a fun challenge at times!). The excitement of being in a new city was palpable, and we couldn’t help but capture it all with our phones.</p>

<p></p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After a bit of freshening up, we gathered to meet the legendary Grand Master Lee (founder and President of GHA International) and Master Tom Adam (Canberra Martial Arts Master and Vice Chairman of GHA Australia). They greeted us with warm smiles and a sense of humour that instantly put us at ease. We could already feel the energy shifting; we were in for an inspiring experience!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">After our adventures at the station, we gathered for dinner with the tour group. The feast was a delicious introduction to Korean cuisine. We dove into bibimbap, bulgogi, and, of course, the mandatory kimchi. As we passed dishes around, jokes flew as fast as chopsticks, and we bonded over shared stories and, for some of us, soju.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">To wrap up the day, we headed to the stunning Cheonggyecheon Stream. The illuminated waterway was the perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll, and the atmosphere was magical. As we wandered, we took turns posing for goofy photos, capturing the essence of our adventure. We even had a spontaneous martial arts poses by the stream—complete with exaggerated moves and lots of laughter!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Wrapping Up Day 0/1</h3>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Exhausted but exhilarated, we finally made our way back to the hotel, already reminiscing about our day. From the laughter-filled shuttle ride to meeting our esteemed masters, every moment was filled with joy and camaraderie. We crashed into our beds, dreams swirling with martial arts moves and the promise of more adventures to come.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Stay tuned as we continue our journey through Seoul and the GHA Martial Arts and Culture Tour — who knows what tomorrow will bring? One thing’s for sure: with this group, it’s bound to be entertaining!</p>
