Nine times out of ten the answer to that question is 'No'. We have had people in their forties, fifties and even sixties start training with us and enjoy our classes. Generally, each student is expected to practice to the best of their abilities. If that ability is slightly less than others due to past injuries or physical hurdles can usually work around it. Each student is different and may have different needs, if you have any more questions regarding this, please contact us.
We do our best to avoid injuring, teaching our students the safe way to train in order to not hurt themselves or others, therefore the odds of getting hurt are low. However, Hapkido is a physical art and like other martial arts and many other sports, injury can occur. For this reason, all instructors and some assistant instructors are First Aid Level 2 certified. If you have any concerns please contact us.
Any health issues should be noted on your application form when you sign up. Serious health issues should also be mentioned to the instructor/s when you start with us.
Generally, if you are healthy enough to go for a run, you can do Hapkido.
